How many times have you got a compliment?  Today, I found a an incredible shop that believes in the power of words and more importantly compliments. Shop Compliment creates lovely pieces of jewellery and includes a compliment hiding inside every box. Shop Compliment was created by Melissa who is a teacher! You can only imagine how excited I was to discover a fellow educator doing great things for others. Melissa is a writer and believes in building each other up with the power of words. These green jade earrings are stunning in person! The photos in this post do not do them enough justice. They are so dainty and perfect with just the right 'pop' of colour! I am saving them for a special St. Patrick's Day outfit post.

The lovely ampersand necklace is one of my favourites in my collection. It is the perfect size and goes with everything. This piece is a go to staple now.

Tuesday Try This- Joe Scrub

I have been wanted to try this Tuesday Try This for a long while now, and since I was sick my plans got de-railed. I had to wait until this weekend to try the amazing Joe Scrub. Joe Scrub is a coffee based body scrub that claims to exfoliate, tighten, and hydrate your skin. It can be used all over your body and there is a very generous portion included in the package. I admit I was skeptical about the benefits of using the coffee based Joe Scrub but I was blown away by my results.

When you open the package you can smell coffee (kind of like opening a tin of you favourite blend at home), and the scrub appears and feels exactly like coffee grinds. I wet my skin before putting the scrub on, and then I got to work scrubbing. I left the scrub on my face, and hands for 5 minutes before washing off. I was amazed at how refreshed my skin looked, the caffeine in the coffee I am sure helped my skin appear firmer and tighter.  My skin felt overly clean and then I used may favourite toner and moisturizer. When I woke up the next day my skin had an extra "I slept well" glow to it.

I am very excited to use this scrub again, as I used it a bit sparingly in hopes of having left overs. It is a great organic natural based product, and as I have learned it is hard to find a good one. I highly recommend the Joe Scrub. You can find it here for $16. Let me know if you will try this!

Monday Musings-Flowers and Hearts (Giveaway Time!)

Happy Monday! I am finally feeling better now I just need to get everyone else in my house feeling better too. This gorgeous heart ring in the picture below was created by Jenn Landry of JCL Designs. The shape is perfect and the ring is so comfortable to wear. The Friday Find-PoppyClips!

This has been a long week for me as I have been quite ill with what I think is the flu. Good News! It's almost gone, and I am on my way back to work to see my kiddies. Unfortunately, I missed my Try This Tuesday post so today I have a special edition of the The Friday Find! I am so excited about this find because I have been wanting these for a long while now. Let me introduce you to PoppyClips, these are amazing magnetized clips that you can attached to your boots, pockets, pant legs, sleeves and anywhere else that can use some 'clipping up'.

The Poppyclips story is very simple," Jessica was wearing long sleeves. She pushed them up. They didn�t stay. She pushed them up, again. They didn�t stay. When her friend, Cristina, saw her aggravation a light bulb went off. She said, �We need magnets.� PoppyClips was born." 

Each pair of PoppyClips is decorated with gorgeous fabric and you can choose to have the bow or not. At the end of the clip are magnets, I have no idea where the PoppyClip girls found these magnets but they are super strength! To hold through my Hunter boots must mean the magnets have extra strength in them.

The great thing about PoppyClips is how versatile they are. I tried putting them on the pockets of my black and white coat and I loved the look I got. The pop of red was just enough to add extra interest to my outfit.

I love the houndstooth fabric and the small button-like covering on top of the magnet. If you look closely it is silver and very sparkly. I absolutely recommend getting a pair of PoppyClips now. The standard clips are $16 and if you love the bows as much as me, these clips are $24. Well worth the money!

Thursday How To- Make A Difference (Sela Designs)

I am so honoured today to be teaming up with Sela Designs. Sela Designs creates incredible pieces of jewellery, designer Ashleigh Becker uses some of the most interesting materials in her pieces. Monday Musings (Dainty Jewell's)

I hope you had a great Valentine's Day, I was very busy with my son's birthday party as he turned three this weekend. It was a great party and he loved every minute of it. Today I am lucky enough to show you two items from the great Dainty Jewell's collection. Dainty Jewell's is designed by Charity Jewell Walter, who at 16 years old began upcycling garments making sure to add the loveliest dainty details such as bows, lace, and ruffles. Charity keeps all of her clothing designs modest, but classy and fashionable. I do consider myself a fan of a more modest clothing design, as I have a definitely have a few areas on my body that I prefer to keep covered. 

You will see from the pictures below Dainty Jewell's clothing is right on trend for the modern woman. I decided to pair the Dainty Jewell's layering top with the Promenade Skirt in tea length. The quality of the clothing is lovely and both pieces fit perfectly according to the size guide provided on the website. I would highly recommend shopping on the Dainty Jewell's website, I noticed the new Spring colletion comes out March 6 and I can't wait to see what Charity has created!

Try This Tuesday-Little Red Dress

With Valentine's Day right around the corner I thought I would share some tips when wearing and buying a little red dress. This is a statement look and when I wear a red dress I love to wear a red coat, red shoes and carry a red bag too, might as well make a big statement right?

The little red lace dress is a few years old, but there are some great options out there, decide how bright of a red you wish to wear, and then wear that red dress loud and proud. This shoot was done a few months ago in anticipation of Valentine's Day and I am so thankful I shot it then because we have a lot of snow right now.
